Good as Gold

Good as Gold

We're not ones to brag, but we do appreciate a kind word now and again. So when the esteemed San Francisco World Spirits Competition chose to honor our whiskies in 2010, we more pleased to accept their recognition with gratitude.

Old No. 8, the classic whisky that made George Dickel famous, earned the prestigious Gold Medal for Tennessee Whiskys. However, this wasn't the first time the Competition saw fit to hang a medal around this bottle's neck: In 2005, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded Old No. 8 the Silver Medal.

George Dickel No. 12 walked away from this year's Competition with a Gold Medal, too. And just like its sour mash sibling No. 8, it, too, has been a judge's favorite, earning two Silver Medals and two Gold Medals from 2005 through 2008.

The good news doesn't end there. George Dickel Cascade Hollow was bestowed with the prestigious Double Gold Medal for Tennessee Whiskys this year, too. And not to be ignored was our Barrel Select, taking home its second Gold Medal since 2007.
